Board Meeting Notices for January

The U.S.D. 442 Board of Education will be holding several board meetings during the next two weeks.  On January 11, 12, 13, 14, and 15, the Board will be holding special meetings to interview finalists for the Superintendent of Schools position beginning on July 1, 2010.  These meetings will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the school district office, 318 Main, Seneca, and will be in executive session.

On Monday, January 18, the Board will hold their regular monthly meeting.  This date was changed from January 11 to accommodate the Superintendent interviews.  The meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. in the school district office.  Among items tentatively scheduled for the agenda:
*Acceptance of grants
*Acceptance of early retirements
*Discussion of selling the property at 709 Nemaha
*Discussion of the financing of the new school building
*Discussion of repairs to the middle school gym floor
*Follow-up to the legislative luncheon
*Discussion of the 2010-2011 school calendar
*Discussion of the 2010-2011 budget
*Consideration of a telephone system upgrade
*Consideration of makeup time due to inclement weather
*Executive session for the discussion of professional negotiations
*Executive session for the discussion of the superintendent of schools search

On Monday, January 25, at a time to be determined, the Board will hold a special meeting to consider approving a contract offer for the Superintendent of Schools position.
