Education Foudation Selects Officers

    On February 10, the Nemaha Valley Schools Education Foundation, held their annual meeting to conduct business and to select officers for the coming year.  Pam Lang and Ed Mohney were re-elected to the board of directors.  Brandon Nordhus was elected for a three year term to the board of directors.  Other members of the Foundation Board of Directors are Briana Evans, Dirk Colgrove, Diann Funk, Tom Hilbert, Kate Haynie, and Owen Zinke.  The Foundation Board of Directors is made up of a combination of community members, school staff and school board.
    Officers elected were Tom Hilbert, President, Briana Evans, Vice President, Pam Lang, Secretary, and Ed Mohney, Treasurer.
    The Nemaha Valley Schools Education Foundation was formed in 2002 to encourage financial support for the programs of the school district and to expand the number of scholarships that graduating seniors from Nemaha Valley High School receive.  The Foundation has been involved in several fund raising activities including a benefit dinner and auction in May of 2007 for Seneca Grade School that raised over $29,000 that will be used for needs and programs of the new school building.  The past two years the Foundation has organized golf tournaments raising in 2008, $8,500 for the new pre-school program and in 2009, over $9,000 that was used to help pay for a new football field scoreboard and to help the NVHS Band attend the Alamo Bowl in San Antonio.
